序
20世紀(jì)80年代初。
喬家院子一個(gè)極具民族傳統(tǒng)建筑風(fēng)格的民居小院。
全劇從20世紀(jì)80年代初到整個(gè)20世紀(jì)90年代的故事就發(fā)生在這兒。隨著時(shí)間推移，遠(yuǎn)景需不斷呈現(xiàn)具有時(shí)代特征的新建筑群。而由一面矮磚墻半遮半掩在小院角落的一個(gè)下水道疏導(dǎo)井，卻多年未變……
月色溶溶，燭光閃閃。
一群年輕人圍著燭光翩翩起舞。同學(xué)們?cè)谧ＹR喬雪梅十九歲生日，同時(shí)也在祝賀她考上重點(diǎn)大學(xué)。

PROLOGUE

The courtyard of the Qiao family, constructed in traditional architectural style.
The action of the play unfolds from the early 1980s through to the 1990s. As time goes by, modern buildings spring up in the vicinity.
Meanwhile, an open sewer remains in the corner of the yard hidden behind a short brick wall.
In the moonlight and to the light of candles, some youths are dancing.
Qiao Xuemeis classmates are celebrating her 19th birthday as well as congratulating her on her admission to a top university.)
