Joint Operations are destined to be complex endeavors. As denoted by General Omar N. Bradley, it takes all our services together plus the industrial efforts of our Nation to win any major war. Since the operation theory and principles of Cyberspace were presented by the government and Pentagon of U.S. in 2011, Joint Operation has evolved into a new version. In post information age, Joint Operation is facing much more challenges and opportunities, which are promoted by the information and networks, and other closely related reform, such as the theory of system operation based on information system, the revolution of military power structure adjustment, regulation and operations.

The manuscript of Basic Introduction of Joint Operations (BIJO) was first put forward in 2014 to meet the requirements of English language overseas students teaching of Joint Operations. And after 4 years trial, adjustment and optimization, the revised version is now formally presented. It should be announced that most of the contents are from teaching resources and presentations of overseas students in this course.

In the process of designing, compiling and optimizing, the revised version was encouraged and tended to contain more complex factors and essential elements of warfare. The Joint Publication, which is a document published by the U.S. military as a combat program, provides regulations to guide the daily military activities of the U.S. military, and offers the prediction for the future development direction of the U.S. military. Joint Operations in Joint Publication released by U.S. in 2016 reflected the current guidance for conducting joint activities across the range of military operations, and the release is the basis for U.S. participation in multinational operations while specific doctrines or procedures have not been ratified. What is more, with the development of military informatization, Joint Operations will comprise more information elements of post information age warfare. But what are the elements involved? How would the elements implement and act effectively in fast rhythm? When considering Network Centric Warfare and Cyberspace Operation, what should the coming version be?

The contents are organized in 7 chapters. Chapter I is the introduction of Joint Operations, including its impression, concepts and components, characteristics and principles. Chapter II shows the mechanism, function and organization of Joint Operations, and the idea and detail are revised based on recent Joint Publisher of U.S.. Chapter III focuses on the joint/combined cooperation and interoperability, meanwhile Command and Control in Chapter IV, and Information Support System in Chapter V. These chapters demonstrate the main contents in Joint Operations. As the advances of Joint Operations theory, Network Centric Warfare (NCW) and Cyberspace Operations (CO) are given in Chapter VI and VII. The two chapters are applied commonly in conceived special topic teaching and seminars, while they can also serve the purpose of research reference.

聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)注定是一個(gè)復(fù)雜事物，正如奧馬爾·納爾遜·布蘭德雷將軍所認(rèn)為的那樣，贏取任何一場(chǎng)重大戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)，需要的是各軍種力量和工業(yè)部門(mén)的齊心合力。自從2011年美國(guó)政府和五角大樓提出網(wǎng)絡(luò)空間作戰(zhàn)理論和行動(dòng)原則以來(lái)，聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)已經(jīng)演變升級(jí)為一個(gè)新的版本。在后信息時(shí)代，信息、網(wǎng)絡(luò)和與之緊密關(guān)聯(lián)的變革，如基于信息系統(tǒng)的體系作戰(zhàn)理論，軍事力量結(jié)構(gòu)調(diào)整、管控和運(yùn)維的改革都給聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)帶來(lái)了諸多挑戰(zhàn)和機(jī)遇。

為滿足聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)課程針對(duì)外國(guó)留學(xué)生的英文教學(xué)需要，在2014年我們就完成了《聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)基礎(chǔ)導(dǎo)論》初稿的撰寫(xiě)。經(jīng)過(guò)了四年的試用、調(diào)整和優(yōu)化，形成了本書(shū)。需要聲明的是，本書(shū)中的大部分內(nèi)容源于留學(xué)生互動(dòng)教學(xué)過(guò)程中的教學(xué)資源和文稿。

在設(shè)計(jì)、編寫(xiě)和優(yōu)化初稿的過(guò)程中，編者力圖使本書(shū)涵蓋戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的復(fù)雜因素和本質(zhì)要素�！堵�(lián)合出版物》作為美軍發(fā)表的作戰(zhàn)綱領(lǐng)性文件，不僅規(guī)范美軍日常軍事活動(dòng)，同時(shí)也預(yù)示了美軍未來(lái)的發(fā)展方向，其中2016年剛修訂過(guò)的《聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)》部分是當(dāng)前美軍戰(zhàn)場(chǎng)聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)行動(dòng)的指導(dǎo)性文件，也是美國(guó)參與多國(guó)聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)的基礎(chǔ)，盡管具體的條令和程序還未獲批。此外，隨著軍事信息化的發(fā)展，聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)必將包含后信息時(shí)代戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)中更多的信息要素。具體而言會(huì)涉及哪些信息要素呢？在快節(jié)奏的戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)進(jìn)程中，這些信息要素是如何發(fā)揮效能的呢？考慮到網(wǎng)絡(luò)中心戰(zhàn)和網(wǎng)絡(luò)空間作戰(zhàn)這些作戰(zhàn)樣式，未來(lái)聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)又會(huì)是什么樣的呢？

本書(shū)共分為七章。第一章是對(duì)聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)的介紹，包括聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)的認(rèn)知、概念和構(gòu)成、特點(diǎn)和原則。第二章介紹了聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)的機(jī)制、功能和組織結(jié)構(gòu)，并且以美軍最近出版的《聯(lián)合出版物》為基礎(chǔ)，對(duì)書(shū)中的理論和細(xì)節(jié)進(jìn)行了修訂。第三章主要介紹了聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)的協(xié)同與互操作。第四章介紹了聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)的指揮與控制。第五章介紹了聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)的信息支持系統(tǒng)。以上章節(jié)論述了聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)的主要內(nèi)容。第六章和第七章分別介紹了作為聯(lián)合作戰(zhàn)理論的發(fā)展前沿的網(wǎng)絡(luò)中心戰(zhàn)(NCW)和網(wǎng)絡(luò)空間作戰(zhàn)(CO)。這兩章內(nèi)容通常適用于專題教學(xué)和研討，同時(shí)也可以作為開(kāi)展專題研究的參考。
